Sarah farms 1,700 acres (850 corn acres) with her husband Brandon in Sidney, Illinois. They have one son, Ryan. Brandon and Sarah grow conventional corn and soybeans and install field tile in their spare time. They enjoy learning about the latest technologies in agriculture and are early adopters of new equipment and practices. Sarah manages many of the operational aspects of the farm, including accounting, planting and hauling.
Sarah is also the co-owner of Hastings CCI Equipment, a company that designs, installs, and repairs grain handling systems.
She graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Animal Sciences (magna cum laude). Sarah currently serves on the FSA County Oversight Committee, is an Illinois Farm Bureau ALOT and Cultivating Master Farmer graduate, and has served as the secretary for the Champaign County Young Ag Leaders.
