Chris Gould was raised on the family farm in rural Maple Park, Illinois.  He attended Kaneland schools, graduating in 1987. Chris then attended and graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in December of 1991. While at the University of Illinois, Chris participated in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, and was commissioned an ensign in the US Navy upon graduation.Soon after graduation and commissioning, Chris married his high school sweetheart Dana Brubaker.

Chris received orders to attend US Navy flight school and flew for ten years in the Navy. After separating from the Navy in 2001, Chris and Dana moved back to the Kaneland area.  Since then he has been both farming and flying for FedEx Express. On the farm, he has gradually taken over management responsibilities of the growing third-generation business, comprised of a crop operation as well as a piglet farrowing operation.

 

In addition to serving on the Illinois Corn Growers Association board, he serves on the Village of Elburn Planning Commission since 2015 and the Cabo-based Puertas Abiertas Ministries Advisory Board. Chris also regularly serves with Royal Family Kids’ Camp for foster children.

 

Past community involvement has included coaching countless youth sports teams, Kaneland Silver Stars Girls Youth Basketball Board of Directors, the Kaneland School Board Citizens Advisory Committee, the University of Illinois DeKalb Research Farm Advisory Board, Kane County Corn Growers Board of Directors, various local and state-level Illinois Farm Bureau committees, the Cabo Ministry Center Advisory Board, Children’s Hunger Fund outreach ministry, various Kaneville United Methodist Church committees, and the Kaneville Volunteer Fire Department.

 

He provides numerous talks, farm tours, and combine rides, helping to dispel myths surrounding modern agriculture.

 

Chris resides in Elburn with his wife Dana and have three adult children – daughters Kelsey and Vanessa and son Andrew.
 

Representing Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, & Will Counties at the Illinois Corn Growers Association.
