Roger Sy, Chairman
Roger lives in Douglas County with his wife, Shirley, where they farmed corn and soybeans until their recent retirement. They have two sons, Ryan and Richard and three grandchildren.
Roger went to Newman High School and spent some time at Butler University in Indianapolis. Roger served as chairperson for the Newman Freedom Festival, a community group called GOAL and on the Douglas County Farm Bureau Board as president. He currently serves on the Newman Township board and on the Douglas County board of review for property taxes.
Roger is looking to incorporate terraces on his farm that he now cash rents and is active in installing CRP acres along drainage ditches. He has recently been very involved with planting pollinator patches to help bolster local habitat for native species.
Roger and Shirley enjoy traveling together and he loves to watch sports in his free time.
