We need you to act in the next week on the 2012 Farm Bill. While you’re in the house for the noon meal, in your truck, or in the field, pick up the phone and dial both our U.S. Senators and tell them we need a Farm Bill now!
Call Senator Durbin’s Office 202-224-2152
Senator Kirk’s Office 202-224-2854 (press #1 to leave message)
Ask them to support passing the Farm Bill NOW!
(before July 4th recess - the Bill is currently on the floor being debated.)
Calls made through June 22 will be timely.
ALSO, ask them to OPPOSE any amendments that will weaken the Crop Insurance Program.
(The Environmental Groups and others are trying to eliminate or weaken your safety net. This is part of their efforts to attack Production Agriculture and the Family Farmers who produce food.)
Current amendments to the Senate Farm Bill include:
2289 OPPOSE Cuts $40million from the Market Access Program (Coburn)
2353 OPPOSE Eliminates EQIP and CSP programs (Coburn)
2367 SUPPORT Eliminates requirements for NPDES permits for every spray application
