Bloomington, IL – The Illinois Corn Growers Association’s 2012 Excellence in Media Award was given to Jared White, WHOW, at the ICGA Annual Meeting today at the DoubleTree Hotel. The award is given each year to a member of the media who promotes Illinois agriculture and specifically, Illinois corn and corn farmers, thru their media coverage.
“We are proud of our ag media throughout the state and the job they do to cover agriculture in a positive and informative way. Specifically, we are grateful to Jared White for his relevant information about agriculture and we hope this award conveys our gratitude to him for his hard work and dedication to the industry,” said Jeff Scates, President of the Illinois Corn Growers Association.
White serves as the local farm broadcaster for 3 of the Miller Media Group radio stations: WHOW Clinton, WTIM Taylorville, and WRJM Charleston. White was promoted to the position in May 2011.
