IL Corn welcomes three summer interns to our office this summer. Two interns are working for the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, and one for the Illinois Corn Growers Association.

ICMB’s summer communication interns are Shelby Carlson and Abby Jacobs. They will be representing ICMB at Summer Agriculture Institutes across the state of Illinois. In addition, they will be preparing news updates, managing social media, and conducting farm interviews.

Shelby was raised in rural Altona, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor’s of Art from Western Illinois University in Communication with a minor in Marketing and is currently pursuing her Master’s of Science in Agriculture Leadership Education at the University of Illinois. Shelby’s past experience includes working as the Communication Intern for the Waste Commission of Scott County and as a receptionist at Stevens Veterinary Clinic.

Abby was born and raised on a grain farm in Graymont, Illinois. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in both Agriculture Education and Agriculture Communications at Illinois State University and will graduate in the spring of 2018. Abby’s past experience includes working as a Student worker and recruiter at Joliet Junior College, Marketing Intern at Schertz Aerial Service, Inc., and was a past IL Corn Marketing Board Social Media Intern.

For ICGA, Kylie Lindley-Bohman has accepted the position of the Legislative Intern. Kylie is a Sophomore at the University of Illinois majoring in Agricultural and Consumer Economics with a concentration in Public Policy and Law.
