IL Corn appreciates the strong response from corn farmers in the state to the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service surveys. Due to the great response, there was enough statistically significant data collected to provide county-level yield numbers for 98 Illinois counties in 2017, up from 92 the year prior. Illinois-NASS sends a ‘thank you’ to IL Corn members for your survey responses. Current @usda_nass data indicates that nationwide, 175 counties had an average corn yield over 200 in ’17. The 175 counties account for 12% of the 1,481 counties for which yields are reported. The 12% is an all-time high; county w/ highest corn yield was Warren County, #Illinois (246.7).
