As part of the third year of the American Ethanol sponsorship with NASCAR, IL Corn shared positive messages about ethanol and corn farming with thousands of race fans at Sunday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet.

The core messages remains consistent.

Ethanol is a clean-burning fuel that’s better for the environment and renewable.

Ethanol lowers prices at the pump. Ethanol is about 60-80 cents cheaper per gallon than gasoline at the wholesale level.

Ethanol supports our economy, encouraging jobs in rural America.

Ethanol reduces our dependence on foreign sources of petroleum.

Ethanol burns cooler and provides more horsepower, a combination of power and performance that NASCAR has enjoyed by using E-15 for three racing seasons and over 4 million miles.

Are you making the choice to use an ethanol blend in your vehicle? Over 95% of all the gasoline sold in Illinois is a 10% blend of ethanol. There are about 240 gas stations in Illinois where you can fuel up with E-85 for your flex-fuel vehicle. OR, there are two dozen blender-pumps in the state where you can choose the ethanol blend that makes the most sense for you.
