EXPORTS MATTER TO ILLINOIS FARMERS

The export market is extremely important to Illinois farmers, with more than 50 percent of the Illinois corn crop leaving the state.

Exports are what keep Illinois corn farmers afloat year after year, and what add buoyancy and vibrancy to the Illinois economy that all citizens – even non-farmers in Chicago – enjoy.

The Illinois Corn Marketing Board funds export driving associations like the U.S. Grains Council, U.S. Meat Export Federation, and U.S.A. Poultry and Egg Export Council to move corn out of the U.S. and capture some of that international buying power.

Of course, those efforts benefit farmers and all Americans, but we are also feeding our brothers and sisters around the world.
