As part of the Illinois Farm Families (IFF) work, two farmers that have served in leadership positions at IL Corn will host the so-called “Field Moms” on their farms. The Illinois Corn Marketing Board invests corn checkoff dollars with IFF in partnership with the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and Illinois Soybean Association.

Donna Jeschke (past chairperson of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board) and Paul Taylor (current Illinois Corn Growers Association President) will host influential Chicago moms on their farms this year. Donna and her husband Paul will provide a farm tour and information on the spring planting progress, including a discussion of biotech/GMOs. Paul will talk corn, but will spend most of his time discussing vegetables. He grows sweet corn and peas for canning purposes. Paul’s tour comes at the request of the moms wanting to see a “vegetable” farm.
