IL PORK EXPO FEB. 5-6 OFFERS SOMETHING FOR CORN FARMERS

If you have considered pork production in the past as a way to diversify your farming operation or bring the next generation back to the farm, you won’t want to miss the Illinois Pork Expo on February 5 and 6 in Peoria.

The IL Pork Expo will be held Feb. 5-6 at the Peoria Civic Center and will again offer a jam-packed agenda with something for everyone involved in the pork industry – producers, contract growers, employees, allied industry, and youth. Grain farmers will be interested in a special Market Outlook Roundtable on Feb. 6 th featuring market analysts Dan Zwicker, Sue Martin & David Nelson. They will give their outlook for 2013 on corn, soybeans and pork and discuss ways to manage marketing risk for crops, feed inputs and hogs.

The expo is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about how pork production can diversify your farming operation or help bring back the next generation to your farm. Stop by the IL Livestock Development Booth and talk to Nic Anderson to learn more.

The IL Pork Expo boasts the largest swine-specific trade show in Illinois, featuring numerous exhibitors showcasing the latest in pork production products, services, and technologies. Educational seminars will also be held on Feb. 6 th focusing on current industry issues such as: - Reducing Feed Costs; Update on NPDES Permits; Novel Approaches to Controlling PRRS; Wean to Finish Management and much more. Wednesday, Feb 6th will also feature seminars for Purebred and Show Pig producers and swine youth exhibitors .
