The export market is hugely important to Illinois corn farmers, with nearly 40 percent of their grain leaving the state.  Our competitive advantage – the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers – makes us a huge winner for new global markets.

This is why IL Corn is excited to celebrate World Trade Month in May!

This is also why IL Corn is a significant funder of the U.S. Grains Council which leverages the funds from the IL corn checkoff with federal funds through programs like the Market Access Program (MAP) and the Foreign Market Development Program (FMD) to grow existing markets and open new markets.

Check out the following video about the work of the U.S. Grains Council and how important trade is to U.S. – and particularly Illinois – corn farmers.
