The Illinois Nutrient Research & Education Council (NREC) is hosting a cover crop webinar June 14th from 9-10 a.m. CT. The webinar will present NREC-funded research that focuses on “the agronomic, environmental, and economic impacts of cover crop integration.” Among the several topics covered are nitrogen timing and cover crop impact on distrubtion of soil nitrogen and determining the impact of nitrogen timing to nitrate loss via tile drainage. The webinar will also feature guest speaker Dr. Shalamar Armstrong, Assistant Professor of Conservation and Management in the Department of Agronomy at Purdue University.
