Ted Mottaz, a delegate from Illinois to the Corn Congress last week, explains in this audio update the grassroots policy work supported by Illinois corn farmers with regard to nutrient management and water quality. As Mottaz explains, the addition of voluntary program is important. We believe that farmers will adopt on a voluntary basis the appropriate best management practices for their farms. IL Corn starts its grassroots policy process in the late fall of each year and it culminates at Corn Congress, the national policy session of the National Corn Growers Association that is held in conjunction with Commodity Classic.
