Last night, June 13, Illinois farmers and CornBelters fans celebrated Pork Night at the Corn Crib. It turned out to be a great night for non-farmers to learn more about pork production, meet a local hog farmer, and enjoy a delicious DaBurger with pork supplied from local farmers.

The non-farmers in attendance learned:

· Pork is the world’s most widely eaten meat.

· One pig represents 371 servings of pork.

· 81 percent of the American population consumes pork at least once every two weeks.

· Ham is the number one in-home lunch meat.

· Seven common cuts of pork are, on average, 16 percent leaner than 20 years ago.

· Hog farmers are normal people who attend soccer games, church functions, and local community events the same as you do.
