The EPA has an open comment period on atrazine right now – and we need farmers like you to provide comments!
When doing the ecological risk assessment for atrazine, the EPA based their review on studies that their own Science Advisory Panel deemed flawed just four years ago! Now, that flawed science puts into question whether or not you’ll be able to use atrazine in the future.
First and foremost, we know that farmers care about the safety of agricultural pesticides, but over the last 50 years, atrazine has passed some of the most rigorous safety testing in the world. More than 7,000 scientific studies have found atrazine to be safe. And now the EPA wants to take away your ability to use atrazine based, not on those 7,000 studies, but on some flawed studies that no one should believe anyway.
Farming without atrazine could cost you up to $59 per acre according to a 2012 study by the University of Chicago. Is this a cost you can afford? Especially in today’s climate?
Tell the EPA to base their decision on sound science today!
