Illinois Corn Growers Association leaders met with representatives of the Canadian Embassy recently to discuss the situation regarding U.S. ratification of the new U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) for trade. In the more than 20 years since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) took effect, trade within North American has grown exponentially. Canada is now our largest trading partner, overall.

And when the time comes later this year, be sure to respond to a call to action from IL Corn on the issue of passing the USMCA. We’ll need bipartisan support to get the deal ratified. Without it, Purdue University research indicates we could lose $9 billion in ag export opportunities.
