U.S. Beef Gaining Market Access in Thailand
IL Corn is joining other organizations in bringing attention to the value of our export markets this month, as May is designated World Trade Month. In Illinois, 38% of our corn leaves the state bound for markets elsewhere, including our world trading partners. We know that a large amount of corn equivalent also leaves Illinois bound for export markets, as ethanol, DDGS, or finished meat products. Livestock is the #1user of corn nationwide, chewing up 46% of the nation’s corn crop in 2016 (including the bushel value of DDGS as feed.) A growing export market for meat products means growing demand for your IL Corn, and that’s where we’re focusing in this audio update about beef exports to Thailand.
