The Conservation Technology Information Center has released the results of their latest survey. The numbers indicate that a growing body of farmers are using cover crops, and it isn’t just the early adopters anymore. IL Corn suggests that cover crops may make sense to be part of your strategy for nutrient management. The Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy calls for cover crop use as one way to reduce nutrient loss in Illinois, improving water quality. The Soil Health Partnership also suggests cover crop use to improve organic matter and overall soil health.
