The Klemms_family photoJohn Klemm is a 5th generation farmer born and raised in Waynesville, IL of DeWitt County. John is happily married to his wife, Megan, and together, they are proud parents to three wonderful kids. Their eldest, Blaine, is 12 years old, followed by their daughter Calla, who is 9, and the youngest, Quentin, who is 7.

 

Farming runs deep in John's blood, and he manages a successful agricultural enterprise comprising corn & soybeans, an angus cow/calf operation, and a thriving freezer beef business. His commitment to sustainable practices is evident as he actively participates in both the CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) and CSP (Conservation Stewardship Program), utilizing CSP to implement soil conservation practices and reduce tillage while adopting VRT (Variable Rate Technology) applied inputs.

 

Alongside his farming endeavors, John has also excelled as a Crop Insurance Agent for the past 14 years. Through this role, he serves his profession with dedication, gaining valuable insights into the challenges that Illinois producers face each year. Building strong relationships with his customers brings him immense joy, knowing that he offers a service that provides peace of mind during the critical growing season.

 

John's past work experience includes serving as a Product Marketing Coordinator for Rhino and M&W agricultural equipment, showcasing his expertise in the industry. In addition to his farming and professional achievements, John actively contributes to the community as a Board member of the DeWitt County Farm Bureau and serves as the School Board Chairman of Zion Lutheran School. He is also a respected member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where he actively participates on the Church Council.

 

His dedication to agriculture and leadership skills are evident from his involvement in various programs, including being a past ILFB (Illinois Farm Bureau) State Young Leader Committee Member and a participant in the Cultivating Master Farmer program. Notably, John achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to his determination and commitment to personal growth.
