IL Corn welcomes Rachel Dame as its new Public Policy Manager, strengthening the organization's legislative advocacy. With a background as a contract lobbyist at Faegre Drinker Law Firm, an Agriculture, Transportation, and Tribal Affairs Policy Advisor for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and a recent role as a Policy Advisor for the Illinois Commerce Commission, Dame brings a wealth of experience in agricultural policy. Her passion for the intersection of agriculture and government relations led her to this perfect fit.

Originally from Winston-Salem, N.C., Dame's interest in agriculture ignited during a Food Science class at N.C. State University. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in Theater Arts, she worked for the U.S. Olympic Committee before pursuing a Master's Degree in public policy at the University of Minnesota. Her diverse experiences also include a Fullbright grant in Albania, where she researched the impact of European Union policies on developing democracies.

As she takes on her role at IL Corn, Dame is excited to expand the organization's presence in Chicago and emphasize the vital role of agriculture in Illinois. Beyond her professional life, she dedicates her time to volunteering at Mercy Homes Boys and Girls youth shelter, enjoys being a dog enthusiast, an avid reader, and is on a quest to find the best cheeseburger in Illinois.
